Autocorrect adds spooky emojis
ERIE, PA – Jennifer Collins thought the worst was behind her when she finally mustered the courage to break up with her toxic ex-boyfriend, Derek. Little did she know, her haunted smartphone would soon become a paranormal conduit, allowing Derek’s restless spirit to torment her from beyond the grave.
It all started innocently enough. A few weeks after the breakup, Jennifer began receiving strange text messages on her phone. At first, she dismissed them as a cruel prank by Derek, but the unsettling messages persisted, often arriving in the dead of night.
“It was like he knew my deepest fears and insecurities,” Jennifer recalls, her voice trembling. “The texts would say things like, ‘You’ll never find anyone who loves you like I did,’ or ‘I’m always watching you.'”
But the truly chilling aspect was the ghostly emojis that would randomly appear, seemingly inserted by some unseen force. Ominous figures, shadowy skulls, and eerie floating spirits peppered the messages, sending shivers down Jennifer’s spine.
“I’ve never used those emojis in my life,” she insists. “And when I tried to delete them, they would just reappear.”
Desperate for answers, Jennifer sought the expertise of renowned paranormal investigator, Dr. Marcus Graves.
“Haunted technology is a well-documented phenomenon,” Dr. Graves explains. “Spirits can sometimes imprint their energy onto electronic devices, especially those with a strong emotional connection to the deceased.”
According to Dr. Graves, Derek’s bitter resentment over the breakup may have anchored his spirit to Jennifer’s smartphone, allowing him to manipulate the device from the great beyond.
“The autocorrect feature likely interpreted his spiritual interference as text input, resulting in the creepy emojis,” he theorizes.
But the ghostly harassment didn’t stop at text messages. Jennifer’s phone would inexplicably turn itself on and off, and her photos would become distorted with ectoplasmic smears and orbs of light.
“One time, I was video chatting with my friend, and Derek’s face just appeared on the screen, glaring at me,” Jennifer recounts, her eyes wide with residual fear. “My friend saw it too – we both screamed and hung up immediately.”
With the haunting escalating, Jennifer knew she had to take drastic measures. She sought the guidance of a local psychic medium, who performed an intricate ritual to sever Derek’s spectral link to the cursed smartphone.
“It was like lifting a heavy weight off my shoulders,” Jennifer says, finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. “I’m just glad I can use my phone again without being haunted by that toxic relationship.”
